World Hepatitis Day 2026
28 July 2026
The Global hepatitis report 2026 highlights that 287 million people were living with chronic hepatitis B or C in 2024, while viral hepatitis caused 1.3 million deaths worldwide. Although prevention, diagnosis and treatment tools are available, major gaps in access remain. With stronger investment, expanded testing and treatment, improved vaccination coverage and equitable access to care, eliminating viral hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030 remains achievable.
