To commemorate the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the International Labour Organization (ILO) in collaboration with the Central Labour Inspectorate, with support from the Government of Sweden, will bring together key stakeholders for a high-level discussion on improving workplace safety and health.
The global theme of this year’s conference is “Revolutionizing Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalization at Work” The event will explore how cutting-edge technologies are transforming occupational safety and health systems and practices. Discussions will also focus on the digitalization of labour inspections, and the launch of the online self-administered training on safety and health at work. These elements will reflect both the global agenda and the specific needs and progress locally.
This event will serve as a platform to exchange knowledge, showcase advancements, and shape the future of safe and healthy workplaces.
Objectives:
- Present the newly launched development cooperation project, supported by Sweden, on enhancing labour inspectorate efficiency, improving working conditions, strengthening compliance with labour laws, and driving employee productivity while elevating the competitiveness of SMEs.
- Emphasize the role of digitalization in transforming the Labour Inspectorate, improving enforcement, and modernizing workplace safety practices.
- Share key insights and best practices in addressing workplace safety challenges, drawing from international experiences and local successes.
- Facilitate stakeholder dialogue on issues concerning safety and health at work
