The second exhibition “Our Future” was held in the Prishtinë/Priština Municipality Building part of the “Return to the (New) Normal” Project.
By all means, the Covid 19 pandemic has also deprived young girls from Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities of their right to education. Not having access to technology and to educational resources has created new difficulties in following their studies. Through the “Return to the (New) Normal” Project, UN Women has ensured educational equality to 190 girls from the Municipalities of Prishtinë/Priština, Fushë Kosova/Kosovo Polje, Pejë/Peć, Gjakovë/Đakovica and Mitrovicë/Mitrovica by providing them with laptops and training in basic IT and research skills.
More than 60 young girls from Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities of Mitrovicë/Mitrovica, Prishtinë/Priština and Fushë Kosova/Kosovo Polje have taken art classes during “Learning English through Art” training . On International Women’s Day an exhibition was organized in the Kosovo Assembly building showcasing the works of the participants.
Yesterday the second exhibition “Our Future” was held on the Prishtinë/Priština Municipality Building, an exhibition which contains a very strong and very significant message, and has welcomed many visitors who had the opportunity to feel closely the special emotions and feelings with which Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian girls breathe and hope every day for the total existence of diversity.
