WHAT: Regional Conference: Best Practices in Preventing Corruption – from Policy to Action
Policymakers and anti-corruption practitioners from Kosovo, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as other experts from regional and international organizations, will come together in a two-day regional event to discuss best practices in the prevention of corruption.
The conference will place special focus on successful strategic and policy frameworks and innovative preventive measures, as well as law enforcement responses to corruption.
The conference will include a high-level segment and a working segment with panel discussions on: 1) successes and challenges in the development and implementation of anti-corruption strategies in the region; 2) inter-institutional/ministerial coordination in the fight against corruption; 3) prevention of corruption – new ways to tackle old problems; 4) criminalisation and law enforcement; and 5) asset recovery offices – best practices in confiscating criminal proceeds from corruption.
The conference is convened by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with financial support from the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).
