The Development Coordinator Office Team

Lorik Pustina is currently the Head of the Development Coordinators Office, a position that he has been holding since the very first cohort of Heads of Offices around the world deployed with the reform in 2019, serving as a chief strategic planner and a senior adviser to the Development Coordinator. During his tenure with the United Nations, he has also served as a Senior Development Coordination Officer / Crisis Management with the Regional Development Coordination Office in Europe and Central Asia, based in Istanbul from where he was deployed to crisis setting countries such as Sudan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Tajikistan to serve as a Head of Resident Coordinators Office or a Special Adviser to the Resident Coordinator.
Prior to his UN post, in his capacity of a Political Advisor to the International Civilian Representative / EU Special Representative in Kosovo has been extensively engaged in the oversight of the implementation of Annex 8 of the Comprehensive Status Proposal by the UN Envoy, President Marti Ahtisaari during the period of “supervised independence of Kosovo”.
After the completion of ICOs mandate, he joined the Kosovo Government as a Senior Advisor to Deputy Prime Minister part of the Kosovo delegation in the Pristina-Belgrade EU facilitated dialogue and Director of External relations with the Ministry of Immigration (April 2014 – March 2019). Previously he worked as program manager with the International Organization for Migration, and as a journalism and PR professor in the American School of Kosova. His career has started as an investigative journalist for local and international media outlets. He speaks fluent, Albanian, Croatian, Macedonian, English, Hungarian while has knowledge of Turkish, Italian and Russian.
Lorik Pustina holds a PhD degree in Law and Political Science from the University of Szeged (Hungary), where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude, M.A in EU Institutions and Policies with University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius – Skopje and University of Graz.

Adrian provides substantive advice on innovative SDG policies and analysis to DC and UNKT, as well as to counterparts in government, and other relevant partners. He also contributes to the UN joint programming process to strengthen the formulation of a new generation of UN joint programmes that are aligned with the SDGs and the National Development Plan, oriented towards investment, and have impact. Adrian also assists Cooperation Framework result groups in the implementation of joint workplans to ensure SDG- relevant and SDG-responsive UN operational activities for development.

Sara assists in the preparation of, and conducts jointly with the Team Leader, a review of financial and human resource proposals/requirements. Consolidates budget/work programme in line with the RCO annual plan and in respect to Headquarters’ budget, trust funds, grants, and procurement. On monthly basis monitors expenditures, prepares reports and compares with approved budget; prepares proposals for adjustments as necessary in close coordination with the Team Leader. Assists the Team Leader in the elaboration of resource requirements for budget submissions to HQ. She assists in preparation of budget performance submissions and finalization of budget performance reports, analysing variances between approved budgets.

Shpend contributes to strategic advocacy, programme communication and outreach in support of the UNSDCF and local promotion of United Nations global communications and advocacy priorities on the work of the United Nations in other key thematic areas such as SDGs and UN Values. He provides substantive support to the DC and UNKT on strategic advocacy, programme communications, media relations, outreach, as well as social media and online communications. Shpend supports the development of publications and media products and manages the branding for. He also coordinates the work of the UNKT Communication Group.

Vjosa provides administrative and logistical support to the UN Development Coordinator in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) by supporting in effective and efficient Functioning of the RC/DC’s office, effective communications and administrative support to the office as well as effective facilitation of knowledge building and management.

Yllka provides substantive support for the development of strategic policy documents and frameworks such as United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, UNSDCF and coordinates inter-agency efforts for monitoring and reporting of UNKT results under the UNSDCF. She coordinates the work of the UNSCDF Results Groups including the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Group. She provides support in development and implementation of the CCA and UNSDCF, including support to UNCT data and research strategies. Yllka supports the UN’s engagement with national data and statistical systems, by facilitating engagement with national entities, including on SDG indicators framework and SDG monitoring and reporting. In addition, she contributes to knowledge management and sharing.
